25 | On July 31, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Veronica Wheatley and conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection and was met by Licensee, Joselyn Renteria. Days and hours of operation are currently Monday through Friday 8am to 5:30pm.
LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. LPA observed 6 children on the premises.
Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained. Current facility sketch reviewed and confirmed that the living room and one bedroom is used for child care. The children nap in these areas. Most of the day the children are outside in the backyard and use a converted garage. The children do not eat or sleep inside of the garage. The garage does have a fire extinguisher and smoke detector. The licensee's bedroom is off-limits and made inaccessible.
The backyard is large, fenced and safe. The children spend most of their time in backyard area. LPA did not observe any hazards. There is a slide area, sand area, grass area and paved area with canopies. There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. Per the licensee, there are no firearms or ammunition on the premises per licensee.
Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector inside of the home.. The home has adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. There is a wall heater inside of the home and portable air conditioning. Inside the converted garage there is an electric heater and wall air conditioner which are inaccessible. There are no stairs in the home. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number. The licensee conducts fire drills. LPA observed a fire drill log. LPA observed a children's roster.
