32 | All toilets and handwashing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition. Water temperature, toilet paper, paper towels, safety and sanitation were inspected floors in the facility are clean and safe.
Solid waste storage containers have tight-fitting covers and are in good repair. Authorized representatives are responsible for providing meals and snacks to children .
Areas around high climbing equipment, swings and slides have cushioning material to absorb falls. The facility is free of flies, insects and rodents. Each preschool room has a fully charged 3A:40B:C Fire Extinguisher. LPA Lovest observed a carbon monoxide detector/ Smoke detector in all classrooms. LPA reviewed the Disaster, earthquake and fire drill log. Earthquake drill log was completed on 06/11/2025.
Facility uses an online platform, Playground App, to communicate with parents regarding enrollment forms, facility updates and any other information that needs to be disseminated.
LPA Lovest reviewed 8 children files and observed the files to be in compliance including but not limited to current contact information of parents and authorized representatives, and authorization for medical treatment, signed Parent’s Rights and signed Personal Rights receipts.
LPA Lovest reviewed 4 employee files. S2 and S4 did not have documentation of required immunization records on file for the department’s review, Type B deficiency cited. See LIC 809D. LPA observed CPR/First Aid as required for opening and closing staff. LPA reminded Director that Mandated Reporter training, Child Care provider course is required, and certificates are to be renewed every 2 years following the date on which the initial or last training certificate was received.
LPA reviewed LIC 125 Entrance checklist- child care centers and required documentation for children and employee files.
Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
