| During today’s visit LPA observed water faucet A identified on facility sketch with elevated lead levels are, labeled with out of service signs and facility has ceased usage. Kitchen faucet is not used for children consumption or food preparation per staff. LPA received pictures of faucet/outlet A.
The director has posted testing results, in a location consistent with the requirements of subsection (b) of section 1596.8595 of the Health & Safety Code, for parents and families to view at the facility during operating hours. Based on observation, interviews and sampling records it has been determined that there was a violation. During today’s visit a Type B violation under 101700.3(b)(1) California Lead Action Level at Child Care Centers has been cited, see (LIC 809D).
LPA discussed the following Plan of Correction with the Site Supervisor. The facility has replaced faucet/outlet A and will hire a independent contractor to test the pipes. This unit was replaced by a certified plumber. The water faucet/outlet labeled A will remain shut off with signs posted pending retesting.
The facility has provided all documentation and immediate actions have been taken to bring down lead levels. The facility has provided notification to parents/guardians of children in care with information about what has been done and remediation plans for kitchen faucet.
A copy of this facility evaluation report (LIC 809 & LIC 809D), Appeal Rights (LIC9058) and Notice of Site Visit (LIC9213) were reviewed and provided to the Site Supervisor.
The Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213) – must remain posted for 30 days during the hours of operation after each site visit by a licensing representative. Failure to maintain posting as required will result in a civil penalty of $100.00.
