25 | On 09/06/2023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Clayton made an unannounced visit to the Kovacs Family Child Care home to conduct a pre-licensing inspection for a family childcare home relocation. LPA was greeted by applicant Szilvi Kovacs. There were no children in care. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8:30a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Licensee provides snacks and water.
LPA Clayton toured the home inside and outside for a Health and Safety inspection. The home is neat and clean with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (310) 844-5840.
Current facility sketch was reviewed, and LPA confirmed that this is a duplex that includes the following: 1 bedroom, bathroom, living room/dining room, kitchen, fenced front and backyard.
The ON LIMIT AREAS are as follows: kitchen, living room/dining room (daycare eating, napping and activity room) bathroom and the fenced front and back yard. The ISOLATION AREA will be in the day care activity room.
OFF-LIMIT AREAS are as follows: bedroom #1, which is inaccessible to children in care by closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision.
LPA Clayton observed a fully charged 2A10BC Fire extinguisher in the daycare activity room, and a working carbon monoxide/smoke detector combo. A Pull Fire Alarm is installed, and a Fire Clearance was granted on January 11, 2023, by the LA City Fire Department Institutions Unit.
Licensee ensures that children in care are supervised at all times and is aware that children shall not be left in parked vehicles. Car seats are used for transportation purposes only and are not used for sleeping children.
LPA observed age-appropriate toys and learning materials present at the facility during today's inspection. The outdoor play area is fenced and free from defects or dangerous conditions. There are ample age-appropriate toys that are safe, clean and in good repair. |
