25 | On 1/29/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Loyce Phillips conducted an unannounced Required Inspection and was met by Licensee, Hilda Owusu. LPA observed 6 children in care today with 1 Assistant. All adults have a criminal record clearance. Licensee operates 24 hours. Licensee was reminded that staff must remain awake when children are awake. Licensee states she has liability insurance on file.
LPA toured inside and outside the facility. This is a 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom home with living room, kitchen, dining area and laundry area.
The areas that are accessible to children: Living room, kitchen, dining area, bedroom #1 (activity room/nap room), front yard and side yard for outdoor activities.
The off-limits area are as follow: Bedroom #2, #3, laundry area and left side yard. Bedrooms are made inaccessible by children safety door knobs.
There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. There are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible to children.
There is a full charged fire extinguisher located in the kitchen serviced on 1/26/2024 . The facility has a working smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detector, inside the home. The facility has adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. There are no stairs in the home. The home has a two sided water heater that is screened. Safe toys, materials and play equipment observed. LPA observed First Aid kit located in day care room. Children nap on cots and infants nap in cribs. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (310) 908-3273.
