| LPA inspected the bathrooms located in the classroom and the hallway. Each classroom has 1 sink and 1 toilet that are operating properly. There is one boys bathroom and one girls bathroom located in the hallway next to the classrooms. The boys bathroom has 2 toilets, 2 urinals and 2 sinks. The girls bathroom has 3 toilets and 2 sinks. Director stated the elementary provides 1 morning snack for the students. Parents provide the child's lunch each day or they can purchase a lunch from the school for a monthly fee.
There are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. All poisons are kept in a locked storage area. Cleaning supplies are stored in a locked cabinet in each classroom. Medication is stored in the nurses office which is located in the main office. LPA observed at least one carbon monoxide detectors and smoke detectors during inspection. LPA observed fire extinguishers throughout the facility. Each classroom has first aid kits and thermometers.
Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. LPA observed age-appropriate play equipment in the outside play area. There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. The outside play area is safe and in good condition. The outside play area is on the blacktop or the preschool's designated area called the Dolphin Cove. LPA observed a play apparatus, toys and equipment.
LPA completed file reviews for children and staff. Children and staff files were complete. LPA observed more than one staff with current cpr and pediatric first aid certification. Menus are posted at least one week in advance where an authorized representative can view them and on the school's website. LPA reviewed disaster and fire drill logs which were current.
No deficiencies are cited today.
