On 8/29/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jillinda Chandler made an announced visit to the Chia Seed Learning Center, located at 6323 W. 80th Street, Ste. A, Los Angeles CA. 90045 for the purpose of clarifying the applicants operational plans. LPA met with Huayin Luolan - Applicant.

During todays inspection LPA discussed the applicants plans of operation. During the initial inspection the applicant wished to use one of the preschool and school age rooms as a motor skills rooms due to the lack of allowed outdoor activity restriction granted by the lessor of the property. Originally the applicant had requested 24 preschoolers and 24 school age, During the initial visit on 6/21/2024 the applicant was recommended for a capacity of 24 preschoolers and 15 school age children.

On July 21, 2024 the applicant provided an revised application for 30 preschool children and 15 school-age Per the applicant during todays visit, she explained she had assumed she could have 45 children based on her certificate of occupancy.

LPA explained the licensing process regarding measurements and determining the allowed capacity. At the explanation of the process the applicant is now requesting to use the preschool motor skill room as a classroom in order to maximize her capacity. Applicant will provide an amended application requesting a capacity of 28 preschoolers, and 15 school-age.

The following measurements were taken:

Preschool = 1013.57 which will accommodate the revised request (with the additional room)
School- age= 781.74 with a capacity based on the number of toilets.

Based on todays visit the facility shall be recommended for a capacity of: 28 preschool children; ages 3 - until entry into first grade, and 15 school age children pending the approval of the requested outdoors waiver.

LPA asked applicant if a language interpreter would be helpful to read and explain this report to which the applicant declined.

An exit interview was conducted and this report was discussed and provided to Huayin Luolan - Applicant.
