| The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. Areas around high climbing equipment, swings and slides have cushioning material to absorb falls.
There are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. All disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible to children in care.
LPA Clayton conducted a Health and Safety inspection of the food storage area and observed it to be free of litter/rubbish and free of rodents/vermin. All food is protected against contamination, and any contaminated food is to be discarded immediately. Solid waste storage containers have tight-fitting covers and are in good repair.
The CCC uses filtered water for drinking and to prepare food for children in care. Lead testing was conducted in November 2025 – no lead exceedances.
LPA Clayton observed a fully charged 2A10BC Fire Extinguisher and a working carbon monoxide/smoke detector combo in the lobby.
LPA Clayton reviewed 6 children’s files and observed the files containing current immunization records (blue immunization cards), contact information of parents and authorized representatives, authorization for medical treatment, signed Parent’s Rights and signed Personal Rights receipts.
LPA Clayton reviewed 4 employee files and found them to be in compliance.
Director Dannis was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
