25 | On Wednesday, April 16, 2025 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA)Braddock, conducted an unannounced annual Inspection. LPA met with Licensee, KUMUDUNI SILVA AND JANAKA SILVA who guided LPA on a tour of the home. People who reside in the home are (Licensee, Spouse) who are live scanned and have TB skin test on. This is large family childcare home operates Sunday through Saturday 23 hours a day. LPA informed licensee that for 23 hour operation staff must remain awake when children are In care. At the time of the visit there were 6 children present with 2 staff members.
This is a two-story family home. There is a living room, family room, classroom, kitchen, four bedrooms, three bathrooms, laundry area, backyard, and attached garage but made inaccessible from inside the home with a safety knob. The off-limit areas of the home are Master bedroom, 2-bathroom, laundry room and garage. The off-limits areas are all four upstairs bedrooms, two upstairs bathrooms, laundry area, and garage. Licensee provides breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks; children are permitted to bring food from home, and it is properly labeled and placed in a refrigerator for the childcare. LPA did not observe any pets.
There is not a body of water or premises
The home was inspected inside for comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation. Medications are stored in the upper kitchen cabinet inaccessible to children. The kitchen knives are store in the garage. Cleaning compounds are stored in the garage inaccessible to children. Per licensee, there are no weapons or firearms in the home. LPA did not see any weapons or firearms in the home. Smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors are in operable condition. The Fire Extinguisher is green, fully charged, and meets the standards of the State Fire Marshal. The licensee’s did not have the correct Pediatric CPR/First aid. Licensee completed a online CPR Course .
