LPA observed kitchen set toy, hockey table, television, and two small beds in the loft of the facility. Licensee showed to the LPA the first aid kit box, and per licensee, licensee stored it under the sink in the licensee’s bathroom.
Bathrooms: Toilet, sink and faucet were clean and operable. LPA did not observe razors and/or sharp objects, mouthwash, medications, perfumes, air freshener, nail polish and nail remover that will pose a health and safety risk to children in care.
Licensee stated that when a child shows signs of illness, the child is separated from other children in the living room of the facility. Per licensee, parents are called immediately.
Outdoor: The facility has no body of water in the backyard. LPA did not observe body of water in the backyard. LPA observed an empty inflatable pool in the backyard. Per licensee, the inflatable pool is being used as a water slide during the hot weather. LPA also observed bicycles in the backyard.
At the time of inspection, Licensee is aware of the requirement to report unusual incidents and/or injuries to the parent/guardian and Licensing on the day of the incident and/or 24 hours of incident by telephone, fax and/or in writing to the Department. Licensee is familiar with the Unusual Incident Report form, LIC624B. The report on unusual incident/injuries can also be mailed to unusualIncidentreport@dss.ca.gov
Review of records to be maintained: LPA reviewed with licensee the LIC 311D, Forms/Records To Keep In Your Family Child Care Homes, children’s forms/records, facility forms/records, and information to be posted. LPA reviewed the licensee’s files. Based on records review, licensee has current mandated reporter training certificates dated July 31, 2024. CPR/First Aid training was completed on February 26, 2025, at the National CPR Foundation. Licensee was advised to take the in-person CPR/First Aid training either through the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or any Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) approved/accredited training centers. Licensee has proof of immunizations against Measles and Pertussis. Licensee has TB skin test on file.
According to the licensee, licensee does not have any children enrolled in day care. Licensee also stated that licensee conduct the fire/earthquake drills with licensee’s children and grandchildren.
Licensee and other adult living in the home have received criminal record clearance.
