complete. Licensee has current mandated reporter training certificates and Basic Life Support CPR/First Aid training taken from the American Heart Association. Per licensee’s spouse, licensee took the 8-hour pediatric
CPR/First Aid training although it was indicated on the document that it was Basic Life Support training. Licensee was advised to verify the training from the training provider. Licensee proof of immunizations against Measles and Pertussis. Licensee declined the Influenza vaccine. Licensee has TB skin test on file.
Based on the facility roster, there are five children. Licensee stated that licensee provides overnight care. LPA reviewed overnight care regulations with the licensee and discussed their plan for providing overnight care. LPA also printed and provided a copy of Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, Article 6 – Section 102426 (Overnight Care) to the licensee/applicant.
Based on records review, the fire/earthquake drills were conducted last February 10, 2026, at 8:04 P.M. Licensee was advised to conduct fire and disaster drill once every six months.
Licensee and other adult living in the home have received criminal record clearance.
The following was discussed with the licensee:
The licensee was reminded that 100% supervision is required at all times to children in care. The licensee was made aware that it is his/her responsibility to know the regulations as well as anyone who assists in providing care; Licensing must have the facility’s phone number at all times; if the phone number is changed, licensing must be notified.
The regulation prohibits the smoking of tobacco in a private residence that is licensed as a family childcare home and in those areas of the family day care home where children are present (24/7 ban). State law prohibits baby walkers, bouncy seats, exersaucers, and any other items that fall into that category. Licensee was advised to check for fixture, furniture and equipment that have been banned or recalled by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
