25 | On May 29, 2026, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Annelise Villa met with Licensee Carla Smith who guided analyst on a tour of the facility for the random annual inspection. Upon arrival, LPA observed 0 children in care. The facility operates 23 hours a day, Monday through Sunday. Overnight care regulations were discussed. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. No children in the daycare with IMS. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. LPA verified that all adults currently providing care and residing in the home have received background clearance.
Physical Plant: This is a two story 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom home with kitchen, living room, dining room, family room, front and back yards, and garage. Main care is provided in the family room. Children use the bathroom off the hallway on the right. Children have access to the main care areas, kitchen, bathroom #1, and back yard. Off limit areas include all bedrooms, bathrooms #2-3, front yard, and garage. The attached garage was observed to be locked during the time of this inspection. The garage is used for storage only and garage is off limits to children. The home was inspected inside and out for safety, clean and orderly, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents/cleaning compounds, and medicines. Hazardous items (sharp knives are located in an upper kitchen cabinet, cleaning chemicals are stored underneath the kitchen sink with an operable safety latch, and medications are stored in an off limits area) are made inaccessible to children in care.
Safe and age-appropriate toys, play equipment and materials were observed. LPA tested the smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector and observed both to be in operable condition in the daycare area. Fire extinguisher was observed in operable condition in the kitchen. Electrical outlets were inaccessible. No recalled and/or prohibited toys or play equipment were observed on the premises. There is a designated area for ill children as necessary.
