32 | LPA Tamayo entered the bathroom and observed the toilet, hand washing sink, hand soap and LPA observed the bottom sink drawer closed and did observe personal toiletries that were stored on a high shower rack and not accessible to the children in care and observed the bathroom to be in good condition.
LPA Tamayo asked the licensee if there were any pets, poisons, firearms, weapons, or bodies of water. The licensee stated she has no pets, no poisons and no bodies of water, no firearms, and no weapons. LPA did not observe pets, poisons, firearms, weapons, nor bodies of water. The license was informed that if any poisons (ex; drano, rat poison or items that fall into that category), firearms and weapons are purchased, it is required to be locked with a key or combination lock and firearm and ammunition must be stored separately.
LPA Tamayo observed the required 2A10BC fire extinguisher located in the enclosed patio (daycare room), and the valve on the green area indicating fully charged. LPA observed carbon monoxide detector and smoke alarm located in the bedroom daycare room. Licensee tested the dual carbon monoxide and smoke alarm. LPA Tamayo heard the sounds and are operable. LPA observed the first aid complete with band aids, gauzes, adhesive bandages, and antiseptic wipes and located in the hallway across from the entrance of the home. For ill isolation, licensee stated she utilize the bedroom in used as part of the daycare. Last fire/disaster drill is current and conducted on 10/24/2025. LPA reminded licensee her next fire/disaster drill will be due on 04/24/25.
LPA Tamayo inspected the play outdoor (backyard) area that is utilized by children for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. LPA observed the backyard to be fenced and gates closed. LPA observed the play equipment to be age appropriate and in a safe condition, free of sharp, no lose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space (concrete, artificial turf) is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. For outdoor water drinking, children drink water from a jug.
LPA Tamayo observed licensee Pediatric First Aid/ CPR certification expired on 04/15/2025. Licensee will retake her CPR/First aid and send proof of completion to LPA Tamayo no later than 05/22/2025. Facility has been cited a Type B Citation. Please see LIC809-D for deficiency page.
Licensee's mandated reporter training expired on 06/27/2024. Technical violation has been given, licensee will send proof of completion to LPA Tamayo no later than 05/22/2025. Licensee was advised that the mandated reporter training must be completed every 2 years, and is available at www.mandatedreporterca.com
