25 | On July 18, 2023, Licensing Program Analyst’s (LPA), Alemoh and Garcia conducted an unannounced case management pool inspection. The purpose of the inspection was to inspect the new location of the above-ground swimming pool and ensure the swimming pool fence meets Title 22 Regulations. Upon arrival LPAs was greeted by Licensee, and licensee husband and observed eight (4) preschool age , (2) toddler.
LPAs observed the pool in the left corner of the back yard upon exit from the house. LPA observed cameras by the pool entrance. The pool has an iron fence by the entrance of the pool measuring over 5 feet high. There is a 6ft tall fence surrounding the entire pool. There is an 5ft iron fence that is bolted on to the 6ft fence making it unable to be open. The spacing of its vertical bars are (three and three quarter) 3 3/4 inches apart and does not exceed the four (4) inches. LPA observed an iron chicken wire behind the pool fence entrance. The pool can be accessed from the iron fence entrance door (key locked). Per licensee, the door to the swimming pool is always locked and children are not allowed in the pool area without adult supervision. The gate to the pool has a key lock (observed), it is self -closing and self-latching and swings away from the pool (demonstrated). There were no chairs or toys that could act as a climbing aid for the children in care to gain access the pool area. All chairs were inside the pool area (locked). The windows that face the pool have shutters, and locks on the windows making it inaccessible to children. Per the Licensee, the window locks will remain lock during business hours. The door leading to the back yard has an alarm that will alert anytime it is opened.
