25 | On March 13, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kris Diaz met with the Licensees, Yolanda Ramos and German Posadas for an unannounced case management – licensee-initiated inspection for capacity change (increase). The licensees granted access to the home and guided LPA on a tour. People who reside in the home are the licensees who have fingerprint clearance and TB test and their three minor children (6, 12, 16). All adults in the home have the required immunizations against pertussis (TDAP), measles (MMR) and have a signed statement declining the flu vaccine. At the time of the visit Licensee had 3 children in care. Per the licensee, the small family childcare home operates 7 days per week from 5am-12am. LPA reminded licensees that someone should be awake when children are awake.
This is a two story 5-bedroom, 4-bathroom home with kitchen, living room, family room, dining room, laundry room, studio and garage. Children have access to the family room, dining room, bathroom downstairs, and the backyard. The off-limits areas are the entire upstairs made inaccessible with a safety gate at the bottom of the stairs, the kitchen and living room made inaccessible with safety gates at each entrance, the laundry room made inaccessible with safety knob, studio made inaccessible with safety knob, and the garage which is only accessible through the laundry room. LPA observed operable fire pull, carbon monoxide and smoke detectors. The fire extinguisher is green, fully charged and meets the standards of the State Fire Marshal. The First Aid kit is located in the childcare room and is fully stocked. LPA removed medications from the kit and handed them to the licensee. LPA observed licensee place in inaccessible area. LPA observed licensee move first aid kit to inaccessible area. LPA reviewed licensees’ files. LPA observed online first-aid/CPR training for adult, child, and baby expires 7/2025. Per licensee, previous analyst suggested online class. Per licensee, in-person class is scheduled for 3.23.24 and 4.12.24. LPA verified registration and informed licensee to confirm class includes child and infant First-Aid/CPR and certificate will indicate such. LPA advised licensee to contact training vendor to confirm or change course and send proof of registration to LPA via email. |
