LPAs inspected the facility for safety, comfort, cleanliness, ventilation and operable phone (cell phone). For ventilation, facility has central AC/heater. LPAs observed the furniture, children’s materials, to be in good condition and age appropriate. Electrical outlets were covered. LPAs observed napping mats and playpens to be in good condition. LPAs observed crib to be free from bumper pads, blankets, pillows and hanging items. LPAs observed a fireplace with glass doors with a child safety strap lock and barricade with bookshelf and inaccessible to children.
Bathroom #1: LPAs observed the toilet and sink to be clean and operable. There is liquid hand soap by the sink. LPAs did not observe hazard materials or medication.
Backyard: LPAs inspected the backyard play area for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. LPA observed the backyard to be fenced with brick walls, and the side gate closed and locked with a latch. The left side of the yard was inaccessible to children with a mesh fence. The surface of the outdoor activity space is a combination of concrete, grass and turf and it is maintained in a safe condition. LPA observed play equipment to be age appropriate and in good condition. LPAs observed the play space shaded. There is a built-in barbeque grill that has child safety gates to make it inaccessible to children. LPAs observed two swings with child seats and three hammocks (2 net-style and one with waterproof material) hanging from the wooden porch celling. LPAs recommended the licensee to do a daily safety check on the swings and hammocks before the children use them and to supervise the children using the swings and hammocks at all times. The backyard is free of hazards. The AC/Heating Unit is located on the right side of the home and is inaccessible to children due to bush and gate surrounding the unit.
Meals: Licensee provides breakfast, lunch and snacks. Licensee participates in the Ventura food program. LPAs informed licensee any food brought from the children's homes, the container shall be labeled with the child's name, date and properly stored or refrigerated. Licensee stated there are no children with severe food allergies. LPAs observed 2% milk that expired 5/19/2026 and oat milk that expired 5/03/2026. Licensee discarded the milk and stated that expiration dates were overlooked.
