25 | on 11/23/22, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Justeene Tamayo conducted a Capacity Increase inspection. Upon arrival, LPA met with licensee Irma Flores. The requested capacity is 14. The fire department has granted a fire clearance. Licensee is advised that as a family childcare home operating at full capacity, she must adhere to the following: Operate with a Maximum of 14 children in care with no more than 3 Infants, also must have 2 school age children enrolled. Or Max. 12 Capacity with no more than 4 infants. A Qualified Assistant must be present when more than 8 children are in care.
Upon arrival, LPA observed 1 child in care. This is a one story 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom home with kitchen, dining room, living room, family room, children's classroom (bedroom #1), laundry room, and garage. There are no bodies of water on the premises. Family members residing in the home include two adults (Licensee and Licensee's husband). Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 24 hours a day. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed.
Physical Plant: The home is clean and orderly. Main care is provided in the children's classroom (first room from the entrance on the left hand side). Children have access to the living room, family room, and playroom (bedroom #1). Children use the bathroom on the right in the hallway. Children nap on cots in the main care area (playroom). Off limit areas include bedrooms #2 and #3, bathrooms #2 and #3, laundry room, kitchen area, and garage. The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents/cleaning compounds (under kitchen sink with safety latch and laundry room with safety door knob) that can pose a danger to children. Medications are stored in the master bedroom(off limits with key lock). LPA observed sharp items such as knives stored in the kitchen drawer with safety latch.
