25 | On April 3, 2024, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Kris Diaz and Sherell Braddock, conducted an unannounced Annual/Random Inspection. LPA met with Licensee, Diana Perez who guided LPA on a tour of the home. People who reside in the home are the Licensee who is live scanned and have TB skin test on file and her minor children (2,7,6,14,17). Per licensee, licensee’s spouse no longer lives in the home. LPA advised licensee to provide declaration stating such. Licensee complied. The large family childcare home operates 7:30a-5:30p, Monday-Friday. Upon arrival, LPA observed 2 daycare children in care with the licensee.
This is a two-story home with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, loft, kitchen, living room (converted to childcare room), laundry room, den, and garage. Children have access to the childcare room and the restroom next to the garage. The backyard is currently off-limits due to recent weather. LPA advised licensee to write declaration making backyard off-limits. Licensee provided statement. The off-limits areas of the facility include the entire upstairs made inaccessible with a safety gate, laundry room, kitchen, den, backyard, and garage. Off-limits areas are made inaccessible with safety gates and safety knobs on doors. LPA observed locked cabinet in children’s restroom. Per licensee, personal hygiene and grooming products are inside cabinet. LPA did not observe a single-action handle on front door. LPA provided licensee with PIN 23-11-CCP explaining requirements for single-action handle and advised licensee to place handle on door by 5/3/24 and send photo proof of correction. There is no body of water on the premises. LPA observed two dogs in the backyard. Per licensee, dogs are vaccinated. LPA advised licensee to place copy of vaccines with facility file.
The home was inspected inside for comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation. Medications are stored in the kitchen inaccessible to children. The kitchen knives are stored in in the kitchen inaccessible to children. Cleaning compounds are stored away in the kitchen inaccessible to children.
The First Aid kit is located in the childcare area inaccessible to children. LPA removed medications and handed them to licensee.
