stated that she does not own a firearm. Per licensee, licensee’s spouse smokes not during day care hours. LPA observed cleaning products are stored in the lower kitchen cabinets under the sink. Knives and other sharp items are stored inside the drawers. LPA observed household medications are stored in the upper kitchen cabinets. No medications are currently being provided to current children in care. Licensee stated that she is a member of the food program and provides meals and snacks to children.
The facility is a two-story house. All rooms upstairs are off limits. A child safety iron baby gate is used to barricade the entrance leading upstairs. There is a fireplace in the facility, and it has a glass cover. The home has central heating and air conditioning units.
Based on records review, the fire/earthquake drills were conducted last October 1, 2025, at 2:57 P.M.
LPA observed safe and age-appropriate toys, table, chairs, cubbies, books, puzzles, crayons, kitchen set toy, and other learning materials. Licensee provides sleeping mats for children to use during nap time. Licensee has emergency first aid supplies inside a bag. Electrical outlets are covered with child safety covers.
Licensee is advised that baby bouncers, saucer chairs, or any recalled and or banned toys or sleep/ play equipment are prohibited on the premises. Licensee is advised to check for fixture, furniture and equipment that have been banned or recalled by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Bathroom: Toilet, sink, and faucet were clean and operable. LPA did not observe razors and/or sharp objects, shampoos, medications, perfumes, air freshener, nail polish and nail remover that will pose a health and safety risk to children in care. Mouthwash is stored under the bathroom sink cabinet with child safety latch.
Licensee stated that when a child shows signs of illness, the child is separated from other children in the area of the converted rooms and retractable mesh gate is used to separate the child.
Outdoor: The facility has an in-ground swimming pool on the premises. The swimming pool has a mesh fence with a gate that swings away from the pool, self-close, and has a self-latching device.
