32 | Knives and sharp objects stored in the kitchen of the home, which is off limits to the children. For water drinking, licensee stated she provides filtered water and each child has their own re-fillable cup. The licensee stated the facility provides breakfast, lunch and p.m. snacks and does not participate in a food program. Licensee stated she currently does not have any children with severe food allergies nor on medication.
LPA Garcia entered the bathroom and observed the toilet, hand washing sink, hand soap and LPA observed the bottom sink cabinet secured with child safety lock and inaccessible to the children. LPA observed the restroom to be in good condition and free of hazards.
LPA Garcia asked the licensee if there were any pets, poisons, firearms, weapons, or bodies of water. The licensee stated she has 1 dog and birds that are kept isolated from the children and are kept in the backyard which is off-limits to the children in care. The licensee stated there are no poisons, no firearms, and no weapons in the home. LPA did not observe poisons, firearms, nor weapons. The license was informed that if any poisons (ex; Drano, rat poison or items that fall into that category), firearms and weapons are purchased, it is required to be locked with a key or combination lock and firearm and ammunition must be stored separately.
LPA Garcia observed the required 3A40BC fire extinguisher located near the entrance of the daycare room and the valve on the green area indicating fully charged and serviced on April 25, 2025. LPA observed dual carbon monoxide detector and smoke alarm located on the ceiling of the daycare room. Licensee tested the dual carbon monoxide and smoke alarm. LPA Garcia heard the sounds and are operable. First aid kit is stored in the bathroom and is complete with band aids, gauzes, adhesive bandages, and antiseptic wipes. For ill isolation, licensee stated she utilizes a corner of the daycare room until the child is picked up by parents. Last emergency drill conducted 7/2025.
LPA Garcia inspected the play outdoor area that is utilized by children for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. LPA observed the backyard to be fenced and gates closed and locked with a hinge lock. LPA observed the play equipment to be age appropriate and in a safe condition, free of sharp, no lose or pointed parts. There is a shed located on the backyard where the children play, however it is locked with a key lock and is inaccessible to the children.The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards (concrete and artificial turf). For outdoor water drinking, children bring out their cups and refill as needed.
