25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Justin Dorsey met with Licensee, Natalie Avila, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility for the One Year Required Inspection. This is a one story 3 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom home with kitchen, dining room area, family room, laundry and detached garage. There is no pool or bodies of on the premises. Upon arrival LPA observed 0 children with the licensee.
Physical Plant: Main care is provided in a converted bedroom (main care area) near the kitchen. Children use the bathroom the main care area. Children have access to the main care, children's bathroom and a portion of the backyard. Off limit area inclde 2 of the homes bedrooms, family room, kitchen, laundry room, dining area and detached garage. LPA advised licensee if any of the homes off-limit areas change to send in an updated facility sketch to licensing. The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents/cleaning compounds (locked in top cabinet in the laundry room), medicines (stored in upper kitchen cabinet) and hazardous items (sharp knives inaccessible on kitchen counter top and locked in kitchen drawer) that can pose a danger to children. The homes fireplace is not screened, LPA Dorsey advised licensee to screen the fire place although it is in a off-limits area. The home has safe and age appropriate toys, play equipment and materials. The smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector, and Fire Extinguisher (2A10BC) are in operable condition. Per Licensee no one smokes in the home. Electrical outlets are inaccessible, no baby bouncers saucer chairs, or any recalled and or prohibited toys or sleep/play equipment were observed on the premises. There is a designated area for ill children as necessary in the main care arae. Per Licensee there are no weapon/firearms in the home at the time.
Per licensee although not documented, fire/earthquake drills are conducted once a month. LPA Dorsey advised licensee that fire/earthquake drill must be documented and conducted once every six months. Roster complete and maintained current.
