32 | LPA Rivera observed two gate barriers installed between living room and hallway and living room and kitchen to prevent children access to enter off limit area. LPA observed cleaning compounds items stored underneath kitchen sink with a childproof lock making it inaccessible for children to open and the knives and sharp objects stored inside top cabinet making it inaccessible for children to reach. For water drinking, LPA observed a water dispenser and children personal water bottles. Licensee stated she provides the meals and snacks. LPA informed licensee any food brought from the children's homes, the container shall be labeled with the child's name and properly stored or refrigerated. Licensee stated she currently does not have any children with severe food allergies nor on medication.
At approximately 1:59 p.m., LPA Rivera entered the bathroom and observed the toilet, hand washing sink, hand soap and bottom sink cabinet closed with a childproof lock making it inaccessible for children to open. LPA observed the bathroom to be in good condition.
LPA Rivera asked licensee if there are any pets, poisons, firearms, weapons, or bodies of water. Licensee stated she has one small dog, no poisons and no bodies of water, no firearms, and no weapons. LPA did not observe the small dog, poisons, firearms, weapons, nor bodies of water. Licensee was advised that if any poisons (ex; drano, rat poison or items that fall into that category), firearms and weapons are purchased, it is required to be locked with a key or combination lock and firearm and ammunition must be stored separately.
At approximately 2:05 p.m. LPA Rivera observed the required 2A10BC fire extinguisher located in the kitchen and the valve on the green area indicating fully charged. LPA did not observe the service tag nor purchased receipt within a year. LPA observed carbon monoxide detector and smoke alarm located in the hallway. Licensee tested the carbon monoxide and smoke alarm. LPA Rivera heard the sounds and are operable. LPA observed the first aid complete with band aids, gauzes, adhesive bandages, and antiseptic wipes and located in the hallway. For ill isolation, licensee stated she utilize a corner of the living room. Last drill conducted 1/17/23. LPA informed emergency drills must be conducted every six months and best practice monthly.
At approximately 2:13 p.m., LPA Rivera inspected the play outdoor (front yard) area that is utilized by children for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. LPA observed the front yard to be fenced and gated. LPA observed the garage door closed and advised to keep it locked or place a chain lock. |
