32 | The pool fence measures at least 5 feet tall and LPA tested the gate and observed that it opened away from the body of water automatically self-close and self-latched as required by the California Title 22 regulations. However, Licensee was not aware of the new pool regulations that went into effect on January of 2025. LPA went over new pool regulations with the licensee and gave her a handout with the PIN notification. LPA has issued a type B citation for not being in compliance with updated title 22 regulations.
LPA Garcia observed cleaning compounds items stored inside the bottom kitchen sink cabinet with a childproof lock making it inaccessible for children to open. Knives and sharp objects were located in the kitchen drawer that had a safety latch making it inaccessible to children. For water drinking, licensee stated she provides filtered water, and disposable cups. The licensee stated she participates in a food program. Licensee stated she currently does not have any children with severe food allergies nor on medication.
LPA Garcia entered the bathroom and observed the toilet, hand washing sink, hand soap and LPA observed the bottom sink cabinet closed and did not observe hazard materials and observed the restroom to be in good condition. Cleaning supplies were observed to be stored in the cabinet under the sink and had a child safety lock. LPA observed a staircase that leads to extra storage, in the bathroom that is inaccessible to the children by a safety gate.
LPA Garcia asked the licensee if there were any pets, poisons, firearms, weapons, or bodies of water. The licensee stated she has 1 dog, no poisons, does have an in-ground pool, no firearms, and no weapons. LPA did not observe pets, poisons, firearms, weapons. The licensee was informed that if any poisons (ex; Drano, rat poison or items that fall into that category), firearms and weapons are purchased, it is required to be locked with a key or combination lock and firearm and ammunition must be stored separately.
LPA Garcia observed the required 3A40BC fire extinguisher located in the daycare kitchen and the valve on the green area indicating fully charged and serviced. LPA observed carbon monoxide detector and smoke alarm located in the hallway. LPA tested the carbon monoxide and smoke alarm. LPA Garcia heard the sounds and are operable. LPA observed the first aid complete with band aids, gauzes, adhesive bandages, and antiseptic wipes and located in the kitchen bottom cabinet. For ill isolation, licensee stated she utilize the Livingroom. Last drill conducted 11/1/2025.
LPA Garcia inspected the play outdoor (side yard) that is utilized by children for safety, comfort, and cleanliness.
