32 | Overnight sleep: LPAs reviewed overnight care regulations with the licensee and discussed their plan for providing overnight care.
Bathroom #1: LPA observed the toilet and sink to be clean and operable. There is liquid hand soap by the sink. The cabinet underneath the sink is closed and secured by a child safety lock that is coming loose. LPA recommended Licensee to repair or replace locks. LPAs did not observe hazard materials or medication. LPA reminded licensee any personal items (ex; shampoo, mouthwash, bar soap, medication, perfumes, razor blades, air fresheners, nail polish/remover or items that state keep out of reach of children) must be made inaccessible to children.
Backyard: Currently the backyard is currently off-limits. Licensee is getting the backyard ready for children to play. Licensee is building a fence around storage area and setting up the net for the trampoline. The AC/Heating Units are located on the back of the home.
Meals: Licensee provides breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. LPAs informed licensee any food brought from the children's homes, the container shall be labeled with the child's name, date and properly stored or refrigerated. Licensee stated there are no children with severe food allergies. LPAs observed the knives and sharp objects are stored inside a container in the upper cabinet in the kitchen making them inaccessible to children. LPAs observed cleaning compounds items stored underneath the kitchen sink with child safety lock making them inaccessible to children.
Pets/Poison/Firearms/Body of water: Per Licensee, there are no pets, poison (e.g. drano, rat poison, etc.), firearms, weapons or bodies of water at the facility. LPAs did not observe pets, poisons, firearms, weapons or bodies of water. The licensee was informed that if any firearms are purchased, it is required the firearm and ammunition/firing pins are stored separately and locked with a key or combination lock.
Illness and medication: In case of illness, licensee stated that children will be isolated in a corner of the dining room on a child-size couch until parents pick-up the child. Household medications are stored in an off-limits upstairs bedroom and inaccessible to children—a fence is placed in the family room/den to make upstairs inaccessible.
Disaster emergency safety: LPAs observed the required 3A40BC fire extinguisher located next to the kitchen sliding doors. LPAs observed the valve on the red area indicating it needs to be re-charged. LPAs informed licensee the fire extinguisher must be serviced annually or show purchase receipt within a year.
