32 | LPA did not observe any hazardous items in the child care bathroom. LPA reminded applicant the children's bathroom must be free of shampoos, mouthwash, medication, perfumes, razor, air freshener, nail polish and polish remover. LPA observed a clean, safe and operable toilet and faucet.
LPAs observe a fully charge 2A10BC fire extinguisher during the inspection located in the kitchen area. The home has a clean and fully stocked refrigerator/freezer. Cleaning supplies are in the garage and the off limits upstairs. First aid kit is stored in the top kitchen cabinet. LPA observed the medications to be stored in the top kitchen cabinet. All kitchen drawers are safety latched.
Kitchen: There is a baby gate making the kitchen inaccessible to children. The following are inaccessible: Sharp items are stored in the kitchen cabinet with a safety latch making it inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed the refrigerator and freezer to be clean. LPA reminded applicant, sharp utensils, open bottles or alcohol must remain inaccessible. If food is brought from the children’s home, the container shall be labeled with the child’s name and properly stored or refrigerated. Applicant does plan to have a food program in the near future. Breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner are provided.
LPA toured the backyard and observe it to be free of garden tools, poisonous plants, thorn trees cactus, or lawn mower inaccessible to children. There is a pool on the premises with a jacuzzi. There is black mesh fence barricaded the entire pool. LPA did measure the fence and the result came back to 4ft in height, with no lock. LPA advised licensee to put a new fence to abide by regulations. The backyard is barricaded by block cement. LPA observed the AC unit to be fully barricaded by a white fence. LPA observed applicant put the BBQ p away in the garage. LPA observed 4 dogs on the premises all in there own cages. Per licensee the dogs will not come in contact with children.
Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
