Areas on limits for the children include, daycare room (bedroom #1), living room, kitchen, restroom (hallway), back yard fenced.
LPA Garcia inspected the facility for safety, comfort, cleanliness, ventilation and working phone (cell phone). For ventilation, LPA Garcia observed central A/C. LPA observed the furniture, children’s materials, to be in good condition and age appropriate. Licensee stated naptime takes place in the daycare room of the home.
LPA Garcia asked about cleaning compounds, licensee stated they are stored in a storage shed outside. Knives were observed to be stored in a high kitchen cabinet making it inaccessible to the children. For drinking water, licensee stated she provides filtered water the children and the children bring their individual water bottles from home. Licensee currently participates in a food program.
LPA Garcia entered bathroom accessible to the children (hallway), and observed the toilet, hand washing sink, hand soap. LPA did not observe any hazardous materials. LPA observed the restroom to be clean and in operable condition.
LPA Garcia asked the licensee if there were any pets, poisons, firearms, or weapons. The licensee stated there are no pets, no poisons, no firearms, and no weapons. LPA did not observe poisons, firearms, or weapons. The licensee was informed that if any poisons (ex; Drano, rat poison or items that fall into that category), firearms and weapons are purchased, it is required to be locked with a key or combination lock and firearm and ammunition must be stored separately.
LPA Garcia inspected the back yard and observed toys and other age appropriate materials for the children. The back yard is surrounded by 1 property wall (chain link fence) and 2 safety gates that prevent the children from accessing the sides of the home. There is a shed for storage that is locked and not accessible to the children. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards (cement). LPA did not observe hazards, sharp or loose, pointed parts. For outdoor water drinking, licensees bring out individual water bottles and refilled as needed. |
