25 | On October 8, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kris Diaz, conducted an unannounced Annual/Random Inspection. Licensee, Lynda Garcia requested a capacity increase. LPA met with Licensees, Lynda Garcia and Luis Alvarez who granted access and guided LPA on a tour of the home. People who reside in the home are Licensees who are live scanned and have TB skin test on file and their minor children (5,11). The small family childcare home operates Monday-Friday, 6:00am to 11:00pm. At the time of the visit there were 3 children present with 2 licensees.
This is a one-story home with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, family room, living room, laundry room, office, and garage. Children have access to bedroom #1 (infant area), the restroom down the hallway, living room, dining room, and family room converted for daycare, and backyard. Off-limit areas of the home are bedrooms #2 and 3, kitchen, office, and the garage. The kitchen is made inaccessible with a safety gate, the bedrooms are made inaccessible with safety knobs, and the garage and office are only accessible through the inaccessible kitchen. LPA observed magnetic safety locks on the cabinets in the restroom to make under sink contents inaccessible LPA observed magnetic safety locks on cabinets in the hallway making contents inaccessible. LPA observed several cots, two cribs, and one pack n play for napping. LPA did not observe a swimming pool/body of water on the premises. Per licensee, there is one small dog on the premises kept in the garage inaccessible to children. LPA observed several age-appropriate toys and activities in the childcare areas and in the outdoor play space.
The home was inspected inside for comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating, and ventilation. Medications are stored in an area inaccessible to children. The kitchen knives are stored in the kitchen inaccessible to children. Cleaning compounds are stored in the kitchen under the sink inaccessible to children.
LPA observed fully stocked first aid kit. Per licensee, there are no weapons or firearms in the home. LPA did not observe any weapons or firearms.
