32 | LPAs Rivera and Ortega inspected the facility for safety, comfort, cleanliness, ventilation and working phone (cell phone and landline). For ventilation, LPA Rivera observed central AC/heater, and the vents located on the ceiling. LPA observed the furniture, children’s materials, to be in good condition and age appropriate. LPAs Rivera and Ortega observed the play rug that is located in the living to have a plastic cover. The children mentioned the licensee’s cat had vomit on the carpet earlier in the morning. Licensee stated will remove the carpet and get it washed.
LPA observed the fireplace to have a gate barrier installed and LPA Rivera observed the wall heater gas pilot to be off. LPA Rivera observed 1 crib to be free from bumper pads, blankets, pillows and hanging items. LPA Rivera observed the other crib to have a pillow inside. LPA Rivera reminded licensee that infants under 1 year, the crib or playpen must be free from bumper pads, pillows, hanging items, and blankets and mattress must have a fitted sheet.
LPA Rivera observed cleaning compounds items, stored underneath the kitchen sink and on top of the washer and dryer cabinet. LPA observed the cabinets to have a magnetic child proof lock making it inaccessible for children to open. LPA observed the knives and sharp objects stored inside the kitchen drawer with a child proof lock making it inaccessible for children to open. For water drinking, licensee stated she provides water bottles and refills children Sippy cups from the water bottles. The licensee stated the facility provides meals and snacks. LPA informed licensee any food brought from the children's homes, the container shall be labeled with the child's name and properly stored or refrigerated. Licensee stated she currently does not have any children with severe food allergies nor on medication.
LPA Rivera entered the bathroom and observed the toilet, hand washing sink, hand soap LPA reminded licensee any personal items (ex; shampoo, toothpaste, mouthwash, or items that fall into that category) must be made inaccessible to children.
LPA Rivera asked the licensee if there were any pets, poisons, firearms, weapons, or bodies of water. The licensee stated she has one cat, no poisons and no bodies of water, no firearms, and no weapons.
