Licensee stated that she does not own firearms, and no one smokes in the facility. LPA observed cleaning products stored inside the lower cabinets under the kitchen sink and have child safety latch. Knives are stored inside shelves of the kitchen pantry and the door of the kitchen pantry has child safety lock. LPA also observed household medications are stored inside the upper kitchen cabinet with child safety latch. Licensee provides meals and snacks to children in care.
The facility is a two-story house. All upstairs rooms are off-limits and there is a child safety baby retractable mesh gate that blocked the entrance upstairs. There is no fireplace in the facility. The home has central heating and air conditioning units.
Based on records review, the fire/earthquake drills were conducted last September 26, 2025.
LPA observed safe and age-appropriate toys, tables and chairs, kitchen set toy, books, highchair, television, diaper changing table, and other toys in bedroom #1 of the facility. LPA observed 8 sleeping cots, 2 foldable playpens, and a crib in the facility.
Licensee has first aid kit box mounted in the wall of bathroom #1. LPA also observed a thermometer. Electrical outlets are covered with safety plugs.
The licensee was advised that baby bouncers, saucer chairs, or any recalled and or banned toys or sleep/ play equipment are prohibited on the premises. Licensee is advised to check for fixture, furniture and equipment that have been banned or recalled by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Bathroom: Toilet, sink and faucet were clean and operable. LPA did not observe razors and/or sharp objects, shampoos, mouthwash, medications, perfumes, air freshener, nail polish and nail remover that will pose a health and safety risk to children in care. LPA observed a first aid kit box mounted on the wall, small chair, trash bin with lid, tissue paper, and paper towel in the bathroom.
Licensee stated that when a child shows signs of illness, the child is separated from other children in an area of bedroom #1 and pillows are provided to the child. |
