32 | LPA Garcia entered bathroom accessible to the children, and observed the toilet, hand washing sink, hand soap. LPA did not observed hazardous items accessible to the children. Cleaning supplies were observed to be stored under bathroom sink and safety latch making them inaccessible to the children. LPA reminded licensee that shampoos, conditioners, etc. are considered hazardous and are to be made inaccessible to the children. LPA observed the restroom to be in clean operable condition.
LPA Garcia asked the licensee if there were any pets, poisons, firearms, or weapons. The licensee stated that there are no pets, no poisons, no firearms, and no weapons. LPA did not observe any pets, no poisons, no firearms or weapons. The licensee was informed that if any poisons (ex; Drano, rat poison or items that fall into that category), firearms and weapons are purchased, it is required to be locked with a key or combination lock, and firearm and ammunition must be stored separately.
LPA Garcia inspected the back yard and observed toys and other age- appropriate materials for the children. The back yard is surrounded by 3 property walls (concrete brick, vinvl fencing) the surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards (concrete). For outdoor water drinking, licensee brings out bottled water.
LPA Garcia observed a 2A10BC fire extinguisher located inside a kitchen cabinet with the valve on the green with purchase receipt dated, 1/8/26. LPA advised licensee that the fire extinguisher must be re-purchased or serviced on a yearly basis and provide purchase receipt. LPA observed the dual smoke/ carbon monoxide detector in the daycare ceiling. The licensee tested the dual carbon monoxide and smoke alarm. LPAs heard the sounds and are operable. LPA observed the first aid complete and stored near the entrance of the home and inaccessible to the children due to safety latch. For ill isolation, licensee stated the children wait in the daycare room away from other children. The last disaster drill was conducted on 3/23/26. LPA observed facility roster completed.
LPA Garcia observed licensee’s Pediatric CPR/ First Aid certification dated 11/16/24. Health and Safety certification is dated 11/9/24, LPA observed Child Abuse Mandated Reporter (AB 1207) dated 11/13/26. LPA observed proof of immunizations for licensee against Pertussis, Measles, TB and Influenza. Licensee was advised that the mandated reporter training must be completed every 2 years, and is available at www.mandatedreporterca.com
