25 | On August 06, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Andrew Alemoh conducted a case management inspection to conclude an Unusual Incident reported to the department by telephone and email on 07/03/2024; this incident was reported timely. LPA spoke with the director. LPA toured the facility and took a census of the children. Upon arrival, there were 68 children and 12 staff present today at the facility with the director and 3 administrators on site
Description of the incident: An incident on 07/03/2024, director called to notify the department that the facility reported a child disclosed inappropriate behavior from staff to the mother.
LPA interviewed licensee, interviewed staff, obtained a copy of children's files, and obtained a copy of the facility roster.
Upon interviews with director, staff and relevant parties’ children are allowed to apply sunscreen on themselves with teacher/staff supervision. Furthermore teachers/staff are allowed to apply sunscreen to children with severe rash and or sun burns upon parents request. Statements disclosed that sun screen are applied to affected areas such as: arms, legs, neck and the face. No disclosures of inappropriate behaviors of staff to the daycare children.
Based on interviews and records reviewed, there is not a preponderance of evidence that the alleged incident occurred.
No deficiency will be cited today concerning the incident. Director is encouraged to continue to report unusual incidents to the Palmdale Regional Office. A copy of this report will be provided along with the notice of site visit and the appeal rights.
