32 | The bedding is stored separately and properly. There is a Infant Daily Report, Used diapers are put in trash container with lid, when infants have a bowel movement the soiled diaper is placed in a plastic bad and discarded in the outdoor trash can. Infant room is clean and safe.
The center is clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair, there are no potential hazardous areas observed. Floors are clean and safe, cleaning compounds are inaccessible, furniture and equipment in good condition. Each infant has own cubby, trash cans have tight fitting lids. LPA observed the carbon monoxide, Fire Extinguisher and smoke detector in working condition. There is a working telephone on the premises, isolation area for ill children at the office area, room temperature is comfortable, Fully stocked First Aid Kit observed, sign in/out sheets were reviewed and contain legal signatures, no baby walkers or other prohibited play equipment was observed on the premises.
Children/Infant are inspected for illnesses (wellness policy) as they arrive. A review of medication policy indicated that prescription medication is administered only with parent's written permission (licensing medication form- LIC9221 - also used) and a doctor's note. There is a separate area for isolation and care of ill children at the entrance with the Director or Director office.
