Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Maddox met with Applicants/Director Nancy and Lucinda Inganni today for the purpose of conducting a Pre-Licensing inspection for a Preschool component (requested a capacity 22 children). A tour of the facility was conducted inside and outside. The tour included 2 buildings, Office space, Kitchen, bathrooms, and the outside play areas. Days/hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 6am to 6pm.

Measurements taken today:

Preschool Room #1: 41 X 19 = 779/35 = 22
Preschool Room #2: 50 X 25 = 1250/35 = 36

Outdoor Space: Small Yard - 55 X 35 = 1925/75 = 26
Outside Friendship garden yard: 1818/75 = 24
Bathrooms can accommodate 60 children (4 bathrooms with 1 toilet and 1 sink in each).

INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE: There are a variety of age-appropriate equipment, toys and materials in good condition and in sufficient quantity to allow children present to fully participate in planned activities. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. LPAs observed individual storage areas for children’s belongings, bedding is stored in the cabinet (key lock) in the restroom.

Center will use water pitchers with disposable cups; Tables and chairs are provided to meet the needs of the children. The child care center was toured and found to be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair to ensure the safety and well-being of children, employees and visitors. Indoor activity space for infants and School Age are physically separate from space used by Preschool classroom.

Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, all potential hazardous that could pose a danger if readily available to children were stored and inaccessible to children (Staff Bathroom).

The isolation area (located in the front office area) is equipped to isolate and care for any child who becomes ill during the day.

Bathroom

In total there are 4 bathrooms each with 1 toilet and 1 sink. LPA ensured the toilets flushed properly and are reachable for children. The restroom has adequate toilet paper and paper towels available, were found to be clean and sanitary.

Center has a separate staff bathroom located in the main building and will also be used as an isolation bathroom for ill children.

Sign-in and Out Procedure: Center will manual sign in and out procedures.

Napping

Center will utilize cots for children to nap on. Cots were stocked and stored in the Staff Lounge. Director/Owner shall ensure Napping equipment will be arranged so that each child has access to a walkway without having to walk on or over the cots or mats of other children.

Bedding shall be individually stored so that each child's bedding is identifiable and no child's used bedding comes into contact with other bedding (stored in the bathroom - staff key lock).

Outdoor

The entire yard is fenced; there is sand underneath climbing equipment on the play yard; Age appropriate play equipment available; Director/Owner children will bring their own water bottles (labelled), Sparklets Water will also be delivered for the water cooler with disposable cups.

Meals:

At this time, Center children will bring their own meals (breakfast, snack, lunch), center will provide snacks only.

HEALTH RELATED SERVICES:

Medications will be kept in a locked box (front office area). A refrigerator shall be used to store any medication that requires refrigeration.

Center has a developed plan to implement and to record the administration of prescription medication and to inform the child's authorized representative daily when such medications have been given.

LPA observed fully equipped first aid kit (front office area and in the classroom). There is a Carbon Monoxide, Smoke detector and Fire Extinguisher (2A10BC) in the classroom.



LPA has verified Qualifications for Director including Lead Poisoning training, mandated reporter and current Operations and Records Keeping.

STD850 Fire Clearance has been granted for the requested capacity.

With measurements provided, and approved fire clearance, center will be licensed for the requested capacity of 22 Preschool children.

A Barrier is needed around the Aloe Vera plants on the friendship garden play yard


Air Conditioner was not working during this inspection, scheduled to be repaired Monday, 9/13/21.
LPA will email COVID postings
White bench located on the Friendship yard needs sanding/painting
The plastic or rubber sleeve should be placed on the chains that hold the swings
The poles on the swing set need padding


Exit interview was conducted. This report was read and a copy provided to Nancy and Lucinda Iganni.
