Restrooms: LPA inspected and observed one bathroom with two toilets and one sink. LPA observed liquid soap, toilet paper and paper towels were readily available. Water temperature is appropriate. According to the director, the isolation area for a child with symptoms of illness will either be an area of the director’s office or an empty room of the facility. The facility maintains a comfortable temperature at all times, first aid supplies (first aid manual/guide, bandages, scissors, tweezers), sign in/out sheets (electronic) available and completed daily. Smoking is prohibited on the premises, daily inspection for illness, no prohibited child care items observed. Firearms/weapons are not allowed or stored on premises.
Napping: LPA observed children's personal blankets in each cubby and sheets are provided by the facility. According to the director, if the child forgot to bring their own blankets, the facility has extra blankets that children can use. The blankets are then taken home by the children during Fridays, and the blankets are brought back by Monday. Cots are used and maintained in good condition, wiped/cleaned/disinfected daily, or when soiled and there is no contact with other children bedding. LPA also observed cribs in the infant room.
Outdoor: The facility has a waiver regarding the shared use of the outdoor activity space. The facility has playground areas for preschool, toddlers, and infant children. Outdoor play equipment was inspected for health, safety, good repair, and age appropriateness. LPA observed grass in the outdoor play area. The area was observed to be free of debris, free from hazard, holes, broken items, debris. No bodies of water were observed. There is one tree that provides shade and rest. LPA observed caterpillar tunnel, toy house with slides, slides, and a swing set.
Teacher child ratios were observed, and staff name recorded. Care and supervision was evaluated to determine if the basic needs of children are met and appropriate.
Health Related Services: According to Director Lanzendorf, they were providing medications to one child at the facility.
Children are inspected for illnesses (wellness policy) as they arrive.
Food Service: The facility provides lunch and snacks for children, and it was brought from kitchen which is located inside the church. Per licensee, the kitchen sink is not used for drinking and food preparation.
