32 | Bathroom: The three childcare bathrooms (adjacent to classrooms) were observed for safe and sanitary operating conditions with no hazardous materials. Toilet paper, paper towels, and soap are available to children. The toilets and sinks in operable condition.
Outdoor/Children’s Play Area: The outdoor play areas were inspected for safety, cleanliness, good repair, age-appropriate toys/equipment, cushioned floors, and shady areas. Per LPA observation, there are no pools or spas on the premises.
File Review: LPA reviewed six children files which contained all required documentation. LPA reviewed child file currently on prescription medication. LPA verified LIC 9221 on file along with doctor’s note about prescription administration. LPA reviewed Director’s file and five staff files. Per record review, three of six staff files did not include Health Screening Report (LIC 503). Two out of the three files did not include a test for TB. LPA informed Director that all staff files must include Health Screening Report with TB test, performed by a physician not more than one year prior to or seven days after employment. A Technical Violation issued.
Other: Per Director, children bring own packed lunches from home. LPA observed individual lunches for children and personal water bottles. The facility provides bottled water. Per Director, there is no food preparation at facility. Per Director, smoking is prohibited on the premises. Per Director, there are no firearms/weapons stored on premises. Per recorded documentation, disaster drills last completed on 11/2025. The carbon monoxide alarm and smoke alarm were observed. Per Director, the facility is exempt from lead testing.

Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
