25 | On 02/02/2023 at 1:30 PM an unannounced Required – 1 Year Inspection was conducted by Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Katrina Chicote and Franchesca White. Licensing staff announced purpose of visit and initially met with Staff 1(S1), who granted entry to facility. Tiffany Sanchez, Coordinating Teacher (CT), joined facility inspection soon after arrival. Facility is located on Willard Elementary School campus. Facility is currently licensed for a capacity of 47, per CT facility currently has 58 enrolled. The program currently operates Part-Time Programs AM1 from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, PM1 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, AM2 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and PM2 Program from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. LPAs singularly toured the facility of both indoors and outdoors. LPAs observed required licensing postings on Parent Board which includes Outdoor Waiver, Sign In/Out Procedures, and use of Kindergarten Bathroom.
At the initial start of the site visit, there is a total census of 13 children and a total census of four teachers present. The facility is made up of two classrooms RM-1 and RM-4. LPAs observed RM-4 with seven kids and two staff (S1 and S2) and RM-1 with six kids and three staff (S3, S4, and S5).
Beginning at 1:37 PM, furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair in each classroom. LPAs observed child size tables and chairs available for children well maintained. LPAs observed learning stations for dramatic play, math, and science with toys well maintained free of loose and sharp parts and a library area available for quiet play. LPAs observed floors and carpets to be free of hazards at time of inspection. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. There were cubbies observed as storage for children's belongings. Per CT, children do not nap at facility due to part time programs. Availability of drinking water was reviewed. LPAs observed children's personal water bottles in each classroom. Age appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected for availability, good repair, water temperature, toilet paper, area safety and sanitation. LPAs observed two bathrooms available in RM-1 that had one toilet and one sink, totaling two toilets and two sinks. Per CT, children use school restroom which is next to RM-4, LPAs observed these restrooms at time of inspection that had six additional toilets and four sinks. Report Continues - Page 1 of 3 |
