Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Bardo Baluyot conducted an unannounced required annual inspection. LPA also conducted this visit as Kindercare provides services to military families. According to Director, Roxanne Munoz, licensee has no children of military families enrolled at this time. Kindercare also has an infant/toddler program and a school age program operating within the same facility and are licensed through the Department ( #198003095 & 198003096).

LPA inspected areas according to the facility sketch on file. No alterations have been made to the exterior or interior of the facility. 3 classrooms are used for care; Room #1 (Pre-K/1+), Room #2 (Discovery Pre School/2's), Room #3 ( Pre-School/3's +) Each classroom has its own det of restrooms. Children are signed in via their NCT QR Code system. LPA observed a total of 28 children present during inspection.

Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. Napping equipment and bedding were inspected. Storage for children's belongings and an isolation area with a sink, toilet, and mats/cots was inspected. Age appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected for availability and good repair. General sanitation was observed. Availability of indoor drinking water was observed via kids personal water bottles. Per Director, staff will refill from refill stations (Arrowhead water dispensers) when needed..

Outdoor equipment was inspected for safety, cushioning material, good repair and age appropriateness. Required shade, drinking water and fencing were inspected. Play area was inspected for hazards and inaccessibility to bodies of water. Director states that outdoor water fountains are in working order but have not been used since pandemic.

Per Director Munoz, all meals are prepared on site. LPA toured the kitchen which is located between the preschool classrooms. Kitchen observed to be clean and well staffed. Food and snack menu was reviewed for availability and appropriateness to children in care. Licensee offers breakfast, lunch and one snack at 3 PM. Per Director, children who are picked up later are also offered a snack at 5 PM. Menus observed to be posted along with all other posting requirements. Facility conducts routine disaster drills monthly (last conducted on 6/17/2021 ). Per Director, smoke/carbon monoxide detectors are part of the building's fire safety/sprinkler system..

Teacher child ratios were observed to be in compliance. Care and supervision was evaluated to determine if the basic needs are met. The isolation restroom is located across the Director's office. Children's records were reviewed for completeness. Employee records were reviewed as well. All employees have current immunization records on file. Mandated Reporter Certificate on file for all staff. First Aid Kit inspected and verification of current CPR/First Aid for staff was observed to be current (expires 2023).


NO DEFICIENCIES CITED IN ACCORDANCE WITH TITLE 22 CALIFORNIA CODE OF REGULATIONS

Exit interview conducted. Appeal Rights explained. Notice of Site Visit must be posted for (30) days. Failure to do so may result in a $100.00 civil penalty.

The facility provides Incidental Medical Services - IMS but do not have any currently.. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children's, personnel, and administrative records.
