25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Veronica Martinez Garza conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection at the above facility on 01/21/26 at 12:13 pm. LPA met with Martha Meza licensee who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. There was 1 child in care. According to the licensee, 07 children are enrolled. Operation hours are Monday – Saturday 08:00 a.m. – 06:00 p.m. LPA conducted the inspection in Spanish/English.
This is a one-story home which consists of 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 living rooms, dining room, kitchen, playroom (day care room), garage, front yard, side yard, and backyard (fenced). Areas accessible to children include the playroom, 1 bathroom (inside the playroom), and back yard (fenced) for play. Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 2 living rooms, dining room, kitchen, garage, front yard, and side yard. Family members residing in the home are 1 adult and 0 minors. According to the licensee, there are no pets on the premises.
LPA toured all areas identified on the facility sketch used by children during this visit and were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. Tour began in the playroom where LPA observed age-appropriate toys, equipment, and materials for children. LPA also observed stored cots and a barricaded fireplace. LPA observed a well mounted gate in the playroom that remains closed and prevents access to the kitchen and living room. There is a sliding door in the play room that leads to the back yard, and the sliding door remains closed while children are indoors. LPA toured the children’s bathroom located in the family room. The children’s bathroom is in safe and in sanitary conditions. There’s also a first aid kit readily available.
At 12:45 pm smoke and carbon monoxide detector were observed to be operable. The valve on the required 3A40BC fire extinguisher indicates fully and was purchased on 03/18/25, per the attached receipt. Per State Fire Marshall standards, fire extinguishers shall be serviced annually.
