LPA arrived at the facility at 10:15AM, identified self and met with Latanya White, Site Supervisor, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. LPA provided Site Supervisor with a copy of the LIC 125 Entrance Checklist to help facilitate the inspection. This is a preschool program which consists of 4 classrooms. Upon arrival, LPA observed 53 children. Room 1; Room #1-Hopping Bunnies (ages 2 years) with 3 staff and 10 children, Room #2 – Elmo’s World (ages 2 years) – with 3 staff and 10 children, Room #3 Pre-K #1 (ages 3-5 years) with 2 staff and 17 children, and Room #4-PreK#2 (ages 3-5 years) with 2 staff and 16 children. The facility was observed to be within the license capacity and limitations. Facility operation hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday. The following was observed during the tour of the facility: Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. Children have their own cubby to store their belongings. Linens are washed on-site at the center. Napping equipment (mats) were observed in a separate storage room. Per Site Supervisor, the isolation area is located in the conference room. Age-appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected for availability and good repair in all restrooms. General sanitation was observed. Availability of indoor drinking water was observed in classrooms. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other items that are dangerous to children, were inaccessible to children. Site Supervisor states that poisons are stored high up shelves in the bathroom. Carbon monoxide detectors were observed and are operable. All kitchen areas/food preparation areas and food storage areas are kept clean and are free of litter, rubbish, rodents, and/or any other vermin. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins shall have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. Trash cans used to discard food have tight fitting lids or solid waste bags shall be discarded immediately after each meal. Outdoor playground equipment is in a safe condition, free of sharp, lose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. All areas around or under high climbing equipment, swings, slides, and similar equipment are cushioned with material that absorbs a fall. There is adequate shade in the play yard. drinking water was observed. All floors were observed to be clean and safe. All materials accessible to children were observed to be toxic-free There are no firearms stored on the premises. There are no pools or bodies of water at the facility. Children’s Records were reviewed. The name, address, and telephone number of child’s authorized representative is on file. Inspection of required forms was made and documented on the LIC 857. LPA was unable to review staff records. The records are stored at 2501 Cherry Avenue, Suite 350, Signal Hill, Ca 90755. LPA will review at a later time. Children's roster was reviewed and is current. Center utilizes the Care Connect application for sign in/sign out. The authorized representatives can scan a QR code. LPA observed today’s sign in / sign out sheet and the date, time, and authorized representative has a signature. Children present were signed in. Disaster drill log was available, last drill was conducted on 01/08/2025.Menus are posted one month in advance where it is visible by the child's authorized representative. Menus for the past 30 days are available upon request. Snacks were reviewed for availability, quantity and appropriateness to children in care. The facility provides Breakfast, Lunch, and PM snack.
First Aid supplies were observed in the classroom in a bin, and outside in a bin. According to Site Supervisor, medication is only administered to a child when accompanied with a doctor's note and is stored in the office. For additional information regarding the inspection and its tools and methods, please visit the Program website at www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/community-care-licensing/inspection-process.Site Supervisor was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. CCC COMPLETED TESTING on 01/31/2023, AND NO LEAD EXCEEDANCES: Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP). LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP.

LPA referred Site Supervisor to the Department website for lead: Lead Toxicity Prevention and Water Testing Information.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of “medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records.

Site Supervisor was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Site Supervisor Latanya White.

There were no deficiencies cited during today’s inspection.
