LPA continued to tour the facility and obtained the measurements for classroom (4) Buddy Bears which will only be used by the facility. The total indoor activity space for the preschool program measured 709.03 square feet, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 20 preschool children. LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via bottled water. LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on 02/19/2025.
LPA observed a total of 6 sinks, 3 toilets and 1 urinal available to the preschool children. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of preschool children. There is a separate staff restroom equipped with a toilet and a sink that is accessible to staff next to the kitchen area of the elementary school. The isolation area for children who are ill will be the main office located within the chapel. The restroom in the chapel is designated as the ill children restroom.
Facility will provide dry AM/PM snacks. Parents provide their child’s lunch. The classroom is equipped with a sink, food prep area and microwave. The classroom’s prep area was observed to be free of hazards. The food storage areas were observed free of rodents and/or vermin.
There is a fully fenced playground area that is currently designated for use under the preschool license of Good Shepherd CDC. The fencing surrounding the playground area is made of wrought iron fencing which was observed to be at least four feet high. LPA obtained measurements of the designated outdoor area which calculated to be 2760.35 square feet, which is sufficient for the requested capacity of 20 children. A playground waiver to share the playground at different times in the AM and PM with Rayuela School was submitted and approved by the Department. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available within playground area. There is adequate cushioning in fall zones of climber provider via rubber outdoor mats. Shade is provided via canopies and fixed shade structure. Drinking water will be available via water bottle. LPA observed all hazardous items on the playgrounds to be inaccessible to children. |
