Room to be free of debris from construction at time of inspection. LPA observed there is a large table in the middle of Living Room, shelves with child appropriate toys free of loose and sharp parts available for children.
At 10:30 AM, LPA observed fireplace in Living Room that is blocked by a heavy toy shelf. At 10:31 AM, LPA observed Bathroom 2, which Licensee states children will use during construction, to be located next to Living Room. LPA observed operable toilet and sink, adequate hand washing and toileting supplies, general area safety and sanitation, and observed all drawers and cabinets to be free of hazards at time of inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which can pose a danger to children are inaccessible stored in off limits areas. The Licensee was advised that inaccessibility of hazards must be constantly reassessed depending on the children in care.
Per Licensee, the children will have access to backyard for outdoor play, which LPA observed to be accessible through backdoor in Living Room. At 10:42 AM, LPA observed backyard has grass and adequate perimeter fencing through-out the yard. LPA observed d all trees, shrubs, and plants are maintained. Licensee states toys for children are stored in storage sheds in backyard, which LPA observed at time of inspection.
Per licensee, they provide food for children in care but at this time children are bringing lunches from home which is stored in Kitchen refrigerator and labeled with children's names.
At 10:31 AM, LPA observed the valve on the required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged with service tag dated 08/18/2022. LPA tested smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and observed to be in operable condition. Per Licensee, First Aid kit is kept in the Living Room. Per Licensee, sick/isolation area is currently in area in Living Room that children will not be using. The Licensee has current Pediatric First Aid and CPR. Proof of immunization against influenza, pertussis, and measles was readily available during today’s inspection. The Licensee has taken the Mandated Reporter Training. Disaster drill log was available and last drill conducted on 03/10/2023.
