has expressed difficulty to attend school. The reporting party stated this behavior may be related to an incident that occurred during a Christmas activity.
LPA conducted staff interviews. No staff reported yelling at children or witnessing any staff yelling at a child. All staff stated that they are trained in behavior guidance and have frequent meetings to address the topic. All staff stated that they are also all certificated in mandated reporter training and are aware of a child’s personal rights per Title 22 regulations.

LPA Perry conducted parent interviews and no disclosures were made pertaining to the above allegations.
LPA observed staff consistently treating children respectfully and in an appropriate manner and tone of voice. Children were observed following their daily schedule and being escorted to the restroom regularly and as needed. Parents were observed to be informed of toileting procedures, including the requirement for extra clothing and notification of incidents via in-person communication, email, and/or phone call as needed. During multiple inspection visits, LPA Perry did not observe any violations related to children’s personal rights. Children were observed during drop-off and pick-up to appear happy, comfortable, and excited to attend the facility. Staff were observed communicating appropriately with parents and children. LPA reviewed the Parent Handbook and Employee Handbook and obtained documentation indicating staff guidance procedures were reviewed during recent staff meetings. LPA did not observe or hear any yelling, screaming, or inappropriate conduct by staff.
Allegation #2: Staff use inappropriate forms of punishment.
The Reporting Party stated that Child#1 (C1) disclosed being made to sit or stand in time-out for an unknown length of time.
During parent interviews no disclosures were made pertaining to the above allegations. Parent #4 and Parent #5 stated that staff communicate appropriately with children and use redirection and calm guidance when children display challenging behaviors. Parents stated that staff speak to children at their level and may have a child sit briefly to refocus.
Staff stated that when a child is experiencing challenging behavior, the child is spoken to at eye level and redirected appropriately. Staff stated that if needed, the child may sit next to a teacher briefly for “quiet time” time with supervision whole the child sits next to a teacher. Staff stated that children are not placed in corners, isolated, or required to stand for time-out.
