25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elka Chavez conducted an unannounced annual inspection to the above facility on 2/17/2022. LPA arrived at the facility at 9:45 AM and met with Licensee, Maria Sanchez who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. Also present during this inspection, was, Licensee’s Assistant, Shamila Sanchez. Entrance Checklist for Family Child Care Homes was provided to the licensee upon arrival. Per Licensee, there are 5 children that are currently enrolled. A current children’s roster was available for review. There were 3 children present upon arrival.
This is a single-story home which consists of 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, laundry room, front yard and side yard (fenced). Parent enter through the side yard (fenced). Areas accessible to children are: Bedroom next to the kitchen, adjoining room is a napping room, bathroom, laundry room, front yard and side yard (fenced). Areas off limits to children and parents are: Bedrooms located towards the front of the home, bathroom next to the front bedrooms, living room and dining room. The licensee understands that licensing staff may have access to off-limit areas during inspection visit if necessary. **Rooms that are off-limits need to be made inaccessible during operating hours** LPA observed a child safety gate in the kitchen making the dining room inaccessible to children in care.
At 11:00 am Individuals who reside in the home were noted and discussed. All adults present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance. Licensee states that there are no firearms stored in the home.
At 10:00 am All areas identified on the facility sketch that are accessible for children to use were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. There is telephone service via a landline and cell phone that is used. Safe toys play equipment and materials were observed.
At 10:15 am Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which could pose a danger to children were observed to be inaccessible to children. LPA observed them to be kept in a cabinet in the |
