Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lilli Babcock conducted an unannounced Case Management visit to follow-up on the corrective measures discussed during the Office Meeting held on 8/14/24. A COVID risk assessment was conducted. LPA met with Director, Karina Garcia, to whom the reason for the visit was explained. Director guided LPA on a tour of the facility. Census was taken. There were 4 staff present caring for 18 children. The facility was observed to be operating within the license capacity limitations.

During the visit, Director stated the air conditioning has been inoperable in the Panda Bear classroom since 9/9/24. Director stated the facility has combined the children from both the Panda and Teddy Bear classrooms and the children are utilizing the Teddy Bear classroom, which has operable air conditioning, until the air conditioning is repaired. Air conditioner is also operable in the Care Bears classroom. LPA observed the temperature on the Panda Bear classroom thermostat and office thermostat to be 88-90 degrees during the visit. There are currently 16 children enrolled in Panda and Teddy Bear classrooms. Director stated per Licensee the air conditioning is scheduled to be repaired on 9/11/24.

During this visit LPA also followed-up on the following corrective and preventative measures to ensure compliance, which were discussed during the Office Meeting on 8/14/24.



· Facility will conduct monthly meetings with all staff and review children's personal rights in the meeting and send the meeting summary signed by all staff to LPA. - A meeting agenda reviewing children’s personal rights on 8/21/24 was signed by staff and emailed to LPA on 8/22/24.

· Licensee will propose a few ideas for maintaining supervision while diapering in the Care Bears room. - On 8/22/24, a newly purchased changing table was placed in the Care Bears room near the counter separating the classroom from the bathroom. A picture of the changing table was emailed to LPA. LPA observed staff should be able to supervise children while changing diapers with the new location of the changing table.
· Licensee will support Director in maintaining staff and children's files.
· Licensee will review the Personal Rights video and submit a plan for how the facility will ensure children's personal rights will not be violated. – Director had staff watch the children’s personal rights video on the CCLD website and sign a document that they viewed the video. Staff then discussed children’s personal rights as a group. Director emailed the signed document to LPA on 8/22/24.
· Licensee will ensure parents are signing children in and out of the facility using full signatures. – Director had a staff meeting on 8/21/24 and staff discussed a policy to confirm the child has been signed in/out on the ProCare app before the parent leaves the facility.
· Licensee will pay current overdue fees and ensure that annual fees are paid promptly. – Fees have been paid and are current as of this day.
· Licensee will send past staff meeting agendas for the last 6 months to LPA – Director does not have copies of prior meeting agendas but emailed LPA the topics discussed during past meetings and stated she will have staff sign meeting agendas going forward.

No deficiencies are being cited at this time.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.

Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Director, Karina Garcia.
