32 | LPA then inspected the bathroom located in the playroom children in bedroom 1, which was clean and orderly. LPA did not observe any hazardous materials that can pose a danger to children in care. The kitchen/dining area was then inspected. LPA did not observe any material or sharp object that can pose a danger to children in care. Licensee the guided LPA to the back yard where children use for outside play. LPA observed children tricycles and outdoor equipment for children in care. All areas were observed to be clean, orderly, comfortable, and well ventilated.
There are first aid supplies available. Per licensee, the facility provides all meals for children in care. LPA reminded licensee that food brought from the children's homes, the container shall be labeled with the child's name and properly stored or refrigerated.
If a child becomes ill, the child is isolated in the playroom while the parents are called. A cot or mat is available if needed.
Licensee's poisons, detergent, cleaning compounds, medications and other items which could pose a danger to child are stored where they are inaccessible to children.
LPA observed a functioning smoke/carbon monoxide detector in the living room and dining area. LPA observed a 2A-10BC fire extinguisher in the kitchen area, which was serviced on 01/31/2024. LPA reminded license that the fire extinguisher must be served every year. Per licensee, they have had trouble contacting to fire department to come in a service the fire extinguisher. There is a working telephone on site. Per Title 22 Emergency Disaster Drill must be conducted and documented at least every 6 months. LPA observed the last emergency disaster drill documented on 11/06/2024.
Per the licensee, there are no weapons, or bodies of water on the premises. LPA did observe 3 small dogs kept in an inaccessible area during the inspection. Per licensee, the dogs are kept in the bedroom that is inaccessible to children in care during daycare hours. Licensee does obtain a current Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification which expires on 11/23/2026.
LPA conducted a children file review and deemed not complete. Licensee did not have 15 minute safe sleep log documented for Infant 1 (In.1) for LPA to observe. Per licensee, In.1 is inconsistent and does not attend regularly. For that reason, they have not been able to document their safe sleep while they nap. LPA reminded licensee, that when In. 1 does attend the daycare, licensee needs to document their 15 minute safe sleep observations.
