32 | Allegation- Staff humiliated child care. According to the RP, C1 had a traumatic experience caused by S8 while attending the facility until 2016. Per the RP, C1 was singled out and ridiculed because they could not answer a question. RP also stated that S8 encouraged other children to laugh at C1. No additional information was provided by the RP. Interviews with S2 revealed that S8 is a really good teacher; however, they were described as an “old school” staff who is very firm but hardworking. S2 also stated that S8 has “big expectations for children”, and some parents may or may not like that. According to S2, parents misinterpret S8 because the staff is very serious, not loving, and very expressive; however, children have no fear and love S8. Interviews conducted with S8 did not reveal any information that corroborate the allegation. According to S8, the licensee made them aware of the allegation and do remember C1. S8 denies humiliating C1, making fun of C1, and encouraging children to laugh at C1. S8 stated that the facility is a montessori school where all children learn at their own pace and that no one is pressured or forced to learn; however, encouragement is introduced. Interviews with S1, S3 thru S7 did not reveal any information that corroborate the allegation. LPA conducted interviews with C2 thru 5 who made no disclosures. According to C3 they like their teacher. Interviews conducted with P1 revealed that S8 is very unkind, impatient and has heard S8 yelling in their class at least once about a year ago during pickup. Interviews with P5 and P7 revealed that they do not have issues or concerns with staff or the facility and are satisfied with the level of care.
LPA also received and reviewed copies of letters provided by parents thanking and showing appreciation for S8.
