25 | On June 24, 2025, at 12:50p.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Peter Bishop arrived at the above facility to conduct an unannounced/Annual Visit. LPA Peter Bishop announced the purpose of the visit and was granted entry into the facility by Licensee- Ruth Ruiz. There are 2 children enrolled, and 0 children present at the time of inspection. The hours of operation are Monday- Thursday from 8:00am- 1:00pm during summer and 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday – Friday during the school year. All adults in the home were discussed and background and fingerprinted cleared. License, earthquake disaster checklist (LIC9148), disaster plan, and PUB 394 posted. The Licensee does have current LIC 9040 (facility roster) A disaster drill log with last drill conducted on 6/9/2025.
This is a two-story home which consists of 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, kitchen/dining room, living room, garage, front yard and backyard (fenced). The off-limit areas include 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, garage and front yard.
The living room area is the main care area. LPA Peter Bishop observed the area to have area rug, TV, soft furnishings for relaxation, library area, manipulative play, dramatic play, age-appropriate toys and age-appropriate table and chairs. There is playpen in the main care area. LPA observed all furnishings, equipment, and material to be in good condition. LPA observed a baby gate to prevent children from going upstairs and a baby gate to prevent children from entering the kitchen making it inaccessible.
The main care area is located in the living room. LPA observed a wall mounted television, couches, bookshelf, child sized tables, child sized chairs, educational posters, age-appropriate toys and children's reading material. A fireplace with a cover was observed in the main care area. The cabinets and drawers do not have safety latches. The knives are currently in a drawer and Licensee will add safety latch to the drawer to provide additional security. A Technical Violation will be issued today.
