32 | LPAs inspected the facility for safety, comfort, cleanliness, ventilation and working phones via cell phone and landline. For ventilation, LPAs observed AC units. Per licensee, parents enter through the gate at the front patio (fenced) and LPAs observed children’s tables/chairs, cubbies to store their personal belongings, and age-appropriate toys. LPAs also inspected the detached garage, which is the playroom and observed the furniture, manipulatives, books, soft plush toys, puzzles, art materials and other age-appropriate materials that were well maintained and free of loose, sharp, and pointed parts. LPAs observed cleaning compound items, stored in a high shelf with a child-proof latch in place, making it inaccessible for children to open. LPAs entered the playroom’s bathroom and observed a working toilet, working sink with hand soap. LPAs reminded licensee that personal items (ex; shampoo, toothpaste, mouthwash, or items that fall into that category) must be made inaccessible to children. Licensee states that children do not nap/eat in playroom.
At 10:40 a.m., LPAs observed the outdoor rear yard, completely fenced. Currently, children are using the rear yard for outdoor play time. Licensee stated that children are supervised at all times. LPAs observed that the outdoor play area has toys, sandbox, moon sand, sensory toys and other materials for children to play with. There is also a slide apparatus with swing set and LPAs observed artificial grass and floor cushioning to absorb a fall. Trees, shrubs, and plants are maintained at time of inspection. Licensee states there is a jacuzzi, but has not been used and does not contain water and LPAs observed the area to completely blocked off with fencing and used as a storage area.
Then, LPAs observed the nap room (bedroom 1) and licensee states she has cots, mats, and playpens if children need to nap. Licensee stated linens are washed at the end of the week at her facility. Licensee stated that the newly enrolled infant is not napping at this time and infant safe sleep was discussed. LPAs observed sleep logs readily available. At 11:00 a.m., LPAs observed the kitchen with child safety gate and the knives and sharp objects stored inside a top cabinet making it inaccessible for children. Licensee provides breakfast, lunch, PM snack, dinner (as needed), and utilize a food program. LPAs informed licensee any food brought from the children's homes, the container shall be labeled with the child's name and properly stored or refrigerated. Licensee stated that there are no children with severe food allergies nor on medication. First aid kit is in the kitchen to be complete.
