25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Judy Mora conducted an unannounced Required 1 year inspection. LPA met with designated Site Supervisor, Samantha Massengale. This is a preschool age program licensed for 12 children which operates Monday – Friday from 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM. This is a drop in facility and a combination center. The facility has a waiver for commingling children from each component (preschool, infant & school age) but may not exceed four children at any one time. The facility also has a waiver from outdoor space. Waivers are posted. A covid screening was conducted on LPA at entrance of facility. Daily enrollment varies.
At approximately 9:25 AM LPA Mora began facility tour with Site Supervisor. All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. LPA observed 02 children with 01 staff. Teacher-child ratios were observed to be in accordance with Title 22 regulations. The Licensee is within the conditions, limitations, and capacity specified on the license. Staff names were recorded. All children were observed to be under visual supervision of a teacher at all times.
LPA observed the facility to be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair. Furniture and equipment was inspected for good repair, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. All indoor classrooms were inspected to ensure that the floors have a surface that is safe and clean. All toilets and hand washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating conditions. All materials and surfaces accessible to children are toxic free. At this time, the office is used as an isolation area. Staff are ensuring that children with obvious symptoms of illness are not being accepted.
Snack menus were reviewed to ensure that they are being posted at least one week in advance and visible to an authorized representative. The facility provides AM snack and PM snack. Children bring their own lunches. All kitchen, food preparation, and storage areas are clean, free of litter, rubbish, and rodents/vermin. There is drinking water available in all indoor classrooms. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins, have tight fitting covers on and are in good repair.
