25 | On 10/24/24, at 9:25AM. Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), T. Tran and A. Carter made an unannounced annual required visit at the above licensed facility. Upon arrival, LPAs met with Center Director, Bianca Sigala. LPAs announced the purpose of today’s visit. About 9:50AM, we toured the facility inside and outside. LPAs observed proper care and supervision. All center staff that were present during today’s inspection had fingerprint cleared and associated to the designated license number.
This is a Preschool located on the church's premises. Facility hours of operation are 7:30am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday. There is no extended care offered. LPAs observed all posting requirements for operation on the posting board LIC 203A-License, LIC 610 A-Emergency Disaster Plan, LIC 9148-Earthquake Preparedness Check List, PUB 394-Notification of parent’s rights poster, LIC 613A- Personal Rights, PUB 269- Child Car Seat Law, Menus, Activity Schedule, and completion testing and remediated lead exceedances.
About 10:40AM, children and staff records were reviewed for completeness. LPAs observed current CPR and First Aid Certification and mandated online reporter training for all center staff.
The facility is currently utilizing the three classrooms. The other two classrooms are for napping/snack prepping and extra activities. LPAs observed all classrooms were set up with age appropriates learning materials. Facility have proper telephone service, heating, lighting, and ventilation. Children napping equipment met the requirement regulation. Storage for children's belongings, bathrooms facilities, and isolation areas were inspected. Isolated area located at the staff's office. Children drinking water was observed by the use of water filtered and disposable cups. First Aid supplies were inventoried. A review of medication policy, including administering, labeling, storage, and records was made. No children at the facility required medication at this time. Documentation of current Fire & Earthquake drill was observed.
Per FR, children's brought their own lunch. Facility provided AM/PM snacks. LPAs observed food and snacks were properly stored. The food preparation area was toured for safety, cleanliness, and proper equipment. Facility is reminded that smoking is prohibited on the premises.
LPAs inspected the outdoor area for safety, cushioning material, good repair, and age appropriateness. Required shade, drinking water and fencing were inspected. Play area was inspected for hazards and inaccessibility to bodies of water. |
